Fall 2021 Updates

Computer Science at Mines has grown again! CS@Mines became the 2nd largest department at Mines last year and just continues to grow. As of this fall semester, Mines now has 987 CS undergraduate students, 121 CS graduate students, 25 Robotics, and 32 Data Science graduate students!

Colorado School of Mines is making national headlines, too! Mines is the top national university in Colorado and the #33 public university in the United States (U.S. News and World Report rankings). CS@Mines also jumped from #68 to #60 in Best Undergraduate CS Programs.

Within our program, students can pave their path for their undergraduate journey. CS@Mines allows students to choose one of the following flexible paths:
– CS General
– CS + Data Science
– CS + Computer Engineering
– CS + Robotics and Intelligent Systems
– CS + Business
– CS + Research Honors
– CS + Space (added Fall 2021!)

In addition to offering a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mines students from any major can apply to earn both their Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree simultaneously. Learn more about it here!

For non-CS majors, CS@Mines now offers a direct path to a CS Master’s degree via a new CS@Mines Bridge program. Students in this program complete foundational undergraduate courses in one year to prepare for Master’s level coursework. Learn more about the CS@Mines Bridge program here. Please share this program with anyone who’d like to “break into tech”!
