Exploring IoT: Data Security and Privacy Camp

Program Overview


Dr. Dong Chen, along with PhD students Qi Li and Keyang Yu, will be leading a cyber camp for high school teachers and students this summer with the topic “Exploring IoT: Data Security and Privacy.” A total of 10 teachers, and 10 students by recruit, will learn a variety of cyber security concepts and have the opportunity for hands on analysis. We strive to broaden participation in STEM and encourage applications from individuals from underrepresented communities.

 

What you will do


Participants will attend the camp at Colorado School of Mines. There is no cost to attend the camp and lunch will be included. The topics covered each day include:

Day 1: Introduction to Data Security and Privacy in IoT systems (Concepts, Principles, Attacks, Threats).
Hands on: Traffic Data Collection
Day 2: IoT Systems Data Analytics and Networking Concepts. (Analysis, Inference Attacks).
Hands on: Data Analysis and Adversarial ML Attack
Day 3: AI-powered Attack Defending and Mitigating (Attacks and Threats Preventing).
Hands on: AI models, Defending models.
